  1. I had no problem with it, but I’ve learned from experience to post things like this in the “code” side of the editor, instead of the “visual” side.

  2. Whenever someone claims to seek power only to NOT use it, my Bull-dar goes off the charts.

    Frankly, I’ve never found libertarian “freedom” rethoric (hand control of the state over to us, and we promise to stay out of your life) very convincing. It all seems a little too good to be true. It’s also far too simplistic. Freedom is a long and complex negotiation between the interests of individuals and society. It’s not something any one politician or party can guarantee to the masses. Such guarantees are not worth the paper they’re printed on.

    So, I regard Ron Paul’s “lets get government out of our lives” electoral slogans with great skepticism. And given the piss-poor performance of libertarian candidates among Republicans and Democrats alike, I’m probably not the only one who finds the philosophy a bit flakey… vague… naive… Mickey Mouse…
