Who Hears A Horton?

According to Murray Was of the Huffington Post, Mike Huckabee pressured the Arkansas parole board into releasing a convicted rapist, who then proceeded to rape and murder one (and probably two) additional victims.

Sound familiar?  And let me know if you think Mike Dukakis would’ve gotten away with releasing this statement from his campaign.

Charmaine Yoest, a senior adviser to the Huckabee campaign, told the Huffington Post: “I think what should be considered here is that if he [Huckabee] could have changed what happened, he would.

Well, DUH.  So Huckabee’s not in favor of rape and murder.  What a courageous way to take a stand.  Ugh.  If he was a Democrat this would be the end of him.  But since he’s the current darling of the religious right, we’ll have to wait and see if they forgive him for the exact same thing they excoriated Dukakis for.

  1. A fool perhaps, but a folksy and charming one.

The last time the Republicans nominated someone like that, they won the election. So, I wouldn’t readily dismiss the possibility of a President Huckabee. Though I certainly won’t go out of my way to make it happen.
