A Holiday Tune

In recognition of the deft apprehension of a reckless driver in front of me on the interstate this morning by a Vermont State Trooper, I offer this custom-made rendition for the holidays:

Dashing through the snow
On my way to work today
I had the luck to tail
A State Trooper half the way

He stayed in the left lane
And kept his blue lights on
Until we passed exit 18
And then the fun begun

(Chorus)
OHHHHHHH
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Statie had his blue lights on, did 40 all the way
Jingle bells, winter fells idiots each day
I wonder why the DMV just gives those things away

I’d stayed a good ways back
In case there was black ice
The Statie kept his pace ahead
So far the drive was nice

Then merging from the right
Some moron in a truck
He swerved a bit in front of me;
And then he pressed his luck

OHHHHHHH
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Statie had his blue lights on, did 40 all the way
Jingle bells, winter fells idiots each day
I wonder why the DMV just gives those things away

Just a bit further on
Down the road we went
The moron swerving back and forth
My patience nearly spent

In front of us I saw
The Statie change his track
He turned his blue lights off
And I held fairly back

The moron drove ahead
And passed the trooper when,
The trooper pulled in front of me
And lit blue lights again!

(SING IT WITH ME PEOPLE!!!)
OHHHHHHH
Moron swerved, justice served, copper nabs the jerk
What an interesting way to get to drive to work, oh,
Winter’s here, screw the deer, watch the road for trucks
People think that 4 wheel drive means they can drive like . . .

Learn how to drive or stay off the frickin road!

  1. Genius or alcohol-induced. 🙂 But hilarious either way.

We have had the same problem….today was the first real “winter” day in months (gentle rain, low clouds, occasional fog, complete ennui), and it took me no less than ninety minutes to cover the thirty-plus miles into work.

  2. HAHA – great – just perfect. You should submit to local station – they could record it and play it before each storm!

    MAMA

  3. Thanks for the kudos.

Nope, no alcohol involved. Just a harried drive and a free fifteen minutes at the end of the day.

It hasn’t stopped snowing here since Sunday night, and you’d think people would know how to drive in snow in VERMONT by now!
