Thank God He’s Not My Lawyer

In an article this morning discussing executions, appeals, the Eighth Amendment, and the Supreme Court staying executions, I saw the following quote:

David P. Voisin, one of the defense lawyers, said the Supreme Court’s action was “a positive sign that as long as this issue is under consideration, the court is going to hold executions.”

Reading the quote in the context of the article, I assume he meant that the court is going to stay executions.

I hope, for his client’s sake, that he is a little more precise in his word choice when arguing before the court.

Today’s word of advice: Remember, there are practicing lawyers and doctors who graduated at the bottom of their class.
